Glam Meets Playful Family Session | Waterloo, Iowa

Opening my freshly remodeled photography studio near Waterloo, Iowa, was something I’d looked forward to for months. Lauren’s family session was the perfect way to celebrate! With a blend of minimalist glam and joyful chaos, we captured authentic family moments that genuinely reflect their personalities.

One thing I adore about my new space is its versatility—perfectly suited to capture a variety of looks, from ultra-glam to laid-back casual, all year round. Lauren chose a minimalist glam aesthetic for her indoor session, which beautifully showcased the family’s style and allowed the kids ample freedom to express their lively personalities.

If there’s one thing I always encourage, it’s to let the kids have fun! When your little ones are comfortable and free to run, laugh, and be themselves, that’s when we capture those genuine smiles and unforgettable memories. Did it involve kids sprinting from one side of the studio to the other? Absolutely. Did we end up doing a few Photoshop head swaps to ensure everyone looked picture-perfect? Of course! But that’s the magic of professional photography—capturing real moments and perfecting them with a little behind-the-scenes magic.

Lauren’s family walked away with portraits that perfectly balanced elegance and playfulness. Each image tells a story of laughter, connection, and a dash of glam—exactly what a family photography experience should be.
